When the going gets tough, grow roots
I read my horoscope yesterday. I don't usually do this as I never know when it's going to be a good or tough message. Well guess what? It was a tough message. Of course, my mind went to the dark side right away. My husband gently set me back on track and helped me see the real message. It was actually something I could incorporate into much of my life. Maybe you can too.
So here goes...When challenges block our path forward and you feel stuck or even sad, the best thing you can do is connect back with nature. Yes, I know many of you may be rolling your eyes. Hear me out. When we reconnect with nature, there is a powerful calming effect and oftentimes clarity follows. Just think about how incredible it feels to hike in the forest, walk along the beach or dip your feet in a crystal clear stream. That sun on your shoulders or the snow landing on the tip of your nose can feel like magic sinking into you.
When we focus on this connection to the earth we often have the ability to become what is referred to as "rooted". Our body, aka "tree trunk," is connecting in a stable way that may even feel like you have roots growing deep into the earth. You feel strong, solid...like if a strong gust of wind tried to knock you over it wouldn't succeed. That physical connection then translates into a mental connection and now you KNOW. You know what to do, where to go and how to do it.
On those days when you feel like there is cloudiness inside your head, go outside. Whether it's cold, rainy, hot...just go to your happy place and reconnect. Plug yourself into the earth for a recharge!
