What did you learn today?

I'm just about done reading a book called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I am way late in reading it as many of you may have already done so. What an interesting book. The author uses his story to share some incredibly valuable perspectives on life. Throughout the book, you begin to see how what happens in your life is exactly what is needed to move you forward on your journey. There is so much that we learn every single day. Often, we are on auto-pilot and thoughts just fly by. Sometimes they sink into our subconscious for another day to be right there when we need them.

His words just reverberate in my head:

“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is like a little parenthesis in eternity.”

When we shift perspective and take a moment to look over our life, we have the ability to see so much goodness that came from each connection that was made with others along the way. Those connections can be in the form of endless shapes - learning, loving, supporting, teaching, guiding, sharing...the list goes on. The important thing to remember is that you have a choice in how you view each connection. Step outside and look in. I bet you'll find the answer.
